SINGLE COLOR AS BRAND, PALETTE AS CATEGORIZATION

El Gordito, Puerto Rico’s best selling brand of burger patties, was looking to update its visual language and create a better differentiation amongst its own product lines. We were asked to collaborate, with an early decision to update and not redesign the packaging. The owner did not want to risk its market share.

Typographic treatments were updated, color palettes balanced and all photographs re-shot. The brand mascot was redrawn and rescaled to better fit the packaging’s dimensions. The design was also brought to meet new FDA recommendations.
